Student Practical Nurses
Students of approved practical nursing education programs in Manitoba hold registration as student practical nurses with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
An applicant for registration as a student may have his or her name entered on the register of student practical nurses (SPNs) if they are enrolled in a practical nursing diploma program, a practical nursing bridging program, a gap training program, or in practical nursing refresher education.
Students may only practise in the capacity of an SPN when participating in a practical nursing education program (described above) and only under the supervision of another regulated nurse (LPN, RN or RPN).
