Complaints
When the CLPNM receives a complaint regarding the conduct, competence or capacity of a practical nurse, it will deal with the complaint in accordance with The Licensed Practical Nurses Act, the CLPNM’s duty to regulate the profession in the public interest, and principles of fairness.
Information for Complainants
Any person with a concern regarding the conduct, capacity or competence of a practical nurse in Manitoba may file a complaint with the CLPNM. Whenever possible, complaints are to be submitted in writing to the CLPNM Executive Director and signed.

Note that any information received by the CLPNM that is deemed to impact public safety may be further investigated regardless of whether a formal complaint is made.
Information for Registrants

Information for Employers
The Licensed Practical Nurses Act (the Act) states: “if a person who employs a licensed practical nurse terminates the licensed practical nurse’s employment for misconduct, incompetence or incapacity, the employer shall promptly report the termination to the executive director and give the licensed practical nurse a copy of the report.”
